About Us
Parker Silo’s and Sheetmetal specialise in the manufacture of grain handling and storage equipment. Based in Esperance, WA, the company has over 20 years experience in building and supplying products across all farming regions. Parker Silos offer flexibility with a huge premises, a variety of specialised machinery and a wealth of practical knowledge that enable the quality fabrication of all manner of products, designed by farmers for farmers.
The company traces its origins back to Keith Parker’s farm in Scaddan in the 1970s. He experimented with handling and storage techniques of grain and over time built a wealth of knowledge and know how. Put to paper, his silo designs offered efficiencies and cost effective solutions to every day local grain handling problems, superior to most designs available. In time, demand for his silos grew, as did the business, which expanded to include a range of other products designed to introduce efficiencies into the grain handling and storage sector.
Today, his son Daniel Parker is now the managing director of Parker Silo’s & Sheetmetal, which now employs 15 full time staff along with contractors and seasonal casual employees. Having completed trade studies in metal fabrication and continuing with further training in construction work, Daniel has received qualifications for; working at heights (EWP), Crane Operations (DG), Rigging(R) and Forklift operations. These skills coupled with many years of experience working on the tools and in management positions have enabled Daniel to take on projects and jobs that require co-ordination and forward planning to fit into seasonal demands and high customer expectations.
To expand Parker Silos market share of Australian built agricultural machinery, management have focused on three core product lines with one common goal. Manufacturing quality field bins (silos), Chaser bins and Grain Driers with the goal of “Bigger, Better, Faster” building the largest mobile field bins in Australia with a capacity of 86 Tonnes, being one of only two Australian manufacturers of Grain Driers and supplying the strongest chaser bin on the market.
Over the last few years we have seen our products grow in capacity and speed, for example in the late 80’s we used to sell silos that held 25 tonne fitted with an 11” auger. This combination used to take about 15 minutes to half fill a small truck. Our most popular silo is the 86 tonne silo with a 15” auger, this fills the biggest trucks on the roads in less than 10 minutes. The need for capacity and speed was once driven by the customer, now Parker Silos prides itself for being an industry leader when it comes to size and innovation.
